Château Angelus is the story of the passionate involvement of the last four generations of the Boüard de Laforest family. The Angelus vineyards are located near the famous village of Saint Emilion, next to the famous south-facing "pied de côte". The name Angelus comes from a particularly old vineyard plot, from which the men who tended the vines could hear the Angelus sounding in the three angels of the village churches, the chapel of Mazerat, the church of Saint Martin and the church of Saint-Emilion. There, in the vineyards and in the winemaking areas, respect for traditional methods goes hand in hand with continuous technical advances so that each vintage and each vintage reach their peak of perfection. This is why, under the direction of Hubert de Boüard since the mid-1980s, Angelus has built a reputation for producing one of the most outstanding wines in its appellation. Elevated to Premier Grand Cru status in 1996, Angelus is undoubtedly a château to be reckoned with in every vintage.
