Founded in 1877 and located in the Estación district of Haro, Viña Tondonia is the third oldest winery in La Rioja and, without a doubt, the most traditional one currently existing in the appellation. It was planted between 1913 and 1914 by Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, giving rise to the winery's best-known product. The Viña Tondonia vineyard occupies more than 100 hectares on the right bank of the Ebro River, preserving the winemaking traditions of La Rioja.
