Macán is a wine attached to the territory, to the Rioja sonserrana that, from the foothills of the Cantabrian mountains, accumulates centuries of tradition, knowledge and wine culture. It shows the freshness, fruitiness, liveliness and delicacy of the terroir, providing depth and complexity.
Behind this wine there is, since 2004, an intense work of selection, acquisition and care of 100 hectares of vineyards and, since 2009 (first vintage marketed), a commendable work in the winery. In addition, since 2016, the joint project of Tempos Vega Sicilia and Compañía Vinícola Barón Edmond de Rothschild within the DOCa Rioja has modern facilities on property where innovation, technology and enociencia converge.
Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia was founded in 2004 as a result of the union of Tempos Vega Sicilia and Compañía Vinícola Barón Edmond de Rothschild. Both firms share the idea of making great wines in Rioja, a unique, singular and inimitable wine region.
