Unlike common wines with a single vintage, the Reserva Especial is a non-vintage wine created by blending several of the best vintages of Vega Sicilia's emblematic Unico. This almost extinct practice is a tribute to the Spanish winemaking tradition: blending different vintages to achieve a unique balance and complexity. Only the best Unico wines from excellent years are selected and aged for many years in large barrels and in bottle, generating a wine of extraordinary depth and structure. The predominant grapes are Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, providing elegance, structure and excellent cellaring potential.
