Barbarroja Viejísima Solera brandy is one of the historical jewels of the mythical Moguer de Jerez winery (later linked to Bodegas Terry), representing the maximum exponent of old-style brandy de Jerez with a long ageing process. This brandy is characterized by a density and depth of almost impenetrable dark mahogany color, the result of an extremely long aging through the traditional system of criaderas and soleras in oak casks that previously contained sherry wines. On the nose, it is a distillate of overwhelming complexity, dominated by notes of raisined fruits (figs, dates), noble woods, varnish, old tobacco and sweet spices such as vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, it stands out for its silky but powerful entry, with a very structured body and a long finish that leaves memories of toasted nuts and licorice. Being a "Viejísima Solera", it is a product of very limited production and high integrated alcohol concentration, designed to be enjoyed at leisure, like a luxury digestif that encapsulates decades of evaporation and concentration (the famous "clausura" or angel's share) in each glass.
