DESCRIPTION
Sassicaia, 2001.
Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC. Tuscany, Italy.
1 bottle, 75 cl.
Condition: BN (Base Neck) grade, located on the lower section. Label is legible, with stains, scuffs, and a horizontal crease with a small tear on the right edge, near the vintage. Blue capsule with scuffs and minor superficial loss of color; the star and upper inscriptions are intact. Cork hidden, making it impossible to assess its condition or position. No obvious external signs of leakage visible in the provided photos. The dark glass and lighting prevent a precise determination of the wine’s color, clarity, and sediment.
It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions.
Sassicaia 2001 reflects Tenuta San Guido’s tradition of producing red wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in Bolgheri. According to the winery, the vintage benefited from favorable weather, with little summer rainfall and early, full ripening. Its production included twenty-two months of aging in French oak barrels—one-third of which were new—before bottling in November 2003.
