DESCRIPTION
Clos Mogador, 2005.
Priorat DOQ, Catalonia, Spain. Qualified Estate Wine.
9 bottles of 75 cl.
98/100 The Wine Advocate (Jay S. Miller, February 2008).
Comes with a Clos Mogador wooden box, marked “2005” and “6 bottles,” opened for inspection.
Condition:
Levels: 9 IN (Into Neck), with variations in height between bottles. Main labels and lower technical labels are legible, with extensive brown-toned stains, mottling, scuffs, and uneven wear. Black capsules with reddish tops, showing abrasions, small scratches, and isolated areas of coating loss; some have more pronounced surface deposits. Corks hidden by the capsules. No clear external signs of leakage in the photographed areas. The dark glass and lighting prevent a reliable assessment of the color, clarity, and sediment of the contents. Box with stains, scuffs, and wear; lid partially lifted.
It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions.
Clos Mogador 2005 is an outstanding vintage of this iconic Priorat red, associated with René Barbier and the vineyards of Gratallops. Made from Garnacha, Cariñena, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it stands out for its concentration, depth, and aging potential. It received a score of 98/100 in *The Wine Advocate*, in a review by Jay S. Miller published in February 2008.
