DESCRIPTION

Glazed porcelain.
It bears a stamp on the base.
Measurements: 32 x 14 x 10 cm; 6 x 7 x 10 cm.
A sculptural set depicting the Nativity of Jesus, created by the Valencian manufacturer Lladró, internationally renowned for its production of artistic porcelain. The composition includes figures of Saint Joseph, the Virgin Mary, the Infant Jesus, King Melchior, King Gaspar, King Balthazar, the ox, and the mule, recreating the traditional scene of the Nativity and the Adoration of the Magi.
The modeling of the figures, the delicacy of their features, and the rendering of the folds in their garments—enhanced by meticulous glazed decoration—reflect the brand’s characteristic style, which combines sculptural sensitivity with ornamental refinement. The arrangement of the figures creates a cohesive scene in which Christian iconography and the Nativity tradition converge.
Founded in 1953 in Valencia by brothers Juan, José, and Vicente Lladró, the company achieved notable international recognition during the second half of the 20th century, becoming a leading name in Spanish artistic porcelain. Its religious creations, along with its figures depicting traditional customs and allegorical themes, found a wide audience among collectors and enthusiasts.
