Measurements: 13 x 45 x 33 cm; 7 x 34 x 22 cm.
A pair of decorative baskets of different sizes, crafted from rattan and brass. The combination of the warm, organic texture of the natural fibers with the subtle golden reflections of the metal creates an elegant contrast of materials, a hallmark of the refined sensibility of 1970s Italian design.
The pieces evoke the aesthetic universe of Gabriella Crespi, a leading figure in 20th-century Italian design, whose work was characterized by experimentation with materials, attention to detail, and the integration of natural and metallic elements into objects with a strong sculptural presence. Trained at the Politecnico di Milano, Crespi developed a career that spanned furniture, lighting, and the decorative arts. During the 1960s, she collaborated with Maison Dior, and in the following decade, she solidified her international reputation with creations that combined sophistication, craftsmanship, and modernity.
