Part of the family of lighting fixtures developed by Jean-Louis Domecq beginning in the 1950s for Jieldé, this floor lamp combines simple construction with versatility. Its two long arms, connected by ball joints, allow for adjustment of the height, reach, and orientation of the light source. It features a domed metal shade with a grip ring and a circular base. The red finish highlights the structure’s lines and adds a decorative touch to its industrial design.
Jieldé is a French industrial lighting brand born from the work of Jean-Louis Domecq, who in 1950 designed a sturdy, articulated lamp for his workshop. The name comes from the French pronunciation of his initials: J—L—D. Its main innovation was a system of electrical contacts at the joints that allowed the arms to be moved without twisting the internal wires. Originally designed for factories and workspaces, these lamps later made their way into the home, becoming a benchmark in industrial design thanks to their functionality, sturdiness, and the aesthetic appeal of their exposed mechanisms.
