A multifaceted artist, Lola Anglada trained in Barcelona and Paris, holding her first exhibition at the Sala Parés in Barcelona. The same year as her debut, she began collaborating as an illustrator with the weekly magazine “Cu-Cut!”. From that time on, she also contributed to prominent publications of the era such as “En Patufet,” “Virolet,” and “La Mainada,” and was in fact the only female illustrator to contribute to these magazines. She even went on to found her own magazine, “La Nuri,” aimed at a female audience, of which a single issue was published in 1925. At the end of World War I, the artist traveled to Paris thanks to a scholarship from the French government, and there she collaborated with the publishers Hachette and Nathan. Today, her former home houses a permanent museum featuring an extensive collection of her works.
