This edition reproduces *Abstraktes Bild* (1983), a work belonging to a pivotal period in the consolidation of Gerhard Richter’s abstract language. During the 1980s, the artist delved deeper into a style of painting characterized by the superimposition of chromatic layers, the dragging of pigments, and the combination of gesturality and chance. In this composition, intense yellows, greens, and blues intertwine with broad diagonal brushstrokes and dark areas, creating a space of great visual dynamism. The alternation of seemingly spontaneous surfaces and more defined structures reflects his unique conception of abstraction, based on a balance between intervention and contingency. The print, produced using a hybrid five-color printing process, reproduces the chromatic richness and textural effects of the original painting.

Considered one of the most influential figures in contemporary art, Gerhard Richter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden and later in Düsseldorf, where he developed a visual language that oscillates between photographic figuration and abstraction. He represented Germany at the 1972 Venice Biennale and has been the subject of major international retrospectives, including one organized by MoMA in New York in 2002. His work is held in institutions such as the Tate in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
