DESCRIPTION
Dagger with sheath. Europe, 19th century.
Steel, brass, and wood.
It exhibits patina and rust consistent with its age.
Measurements: 24 cm in length.
A European-made dagger characterized by its straight, pointed, double-edged blade. The hilt combines a turned wooden pommel, marked by distinct concentric rings, with a straight brass guard topped by small molded finials.
The simplicity of its construction and the hallmarks of steel, brass, and wood reflect civilian models that were widespread during the 19th century. It also retains its scabbard, a feature that completes the set and adds to its significance as a historical bladed weapon.
