Tiffany Drip Bag (Blue) is part of the sculptural series *The Drip Collection*, launched by Debbie Wingham in 2021, in which she reinterprets iconic objects from the worlds of fashion and luxury through a surrealist-inspired aesthetic. The work reproduces the recognizable silhouette of the Hermès Birkin bag, transforming it through a liquefaction effect that seems to melt its structure onto the floor. Its glossy finish in a turquoise blue hue, evocative of the signature Tiffany color, accentuates the contrast between the elegance of the original object and its sculptural transformation. Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s famous images, this metamorphosis—which the artist calls “Drip Effect”—offers an ironic reflection on status symbols, desire, and consumer culture.
A British artist and designer, Debbie Wingham began her career in the world of haute couture, gaining international recognition for her luxury creations and designs crafted from precious materials. She later expanded her practice to contemporary sculpture, and since 2021 has focused her work on reinterpreting iconic fashion objects. Her works have garnered attention from international media outlets such as Forbes, the BBC, and CNN, and have been featured in exhibitions and art projects linked to the worlds of luxury and design.
