Silver coffee set with tray. Germany, ca. 1900–1915.
A four-piece set consisting of a coffee pot, milk pitcher, and sugar bowl in 800-part silver, accompanied by an oval silver tray of a different make.
The three pieces of the set bear German crescent and crown hallmarks, an 800 fineness mark, and a silversmith’s mark possibly corresponding to Koch & Bergfeld, Bremen. The tray bears hallmarks of different origins.
In good condition, with slight scratches and signs of use.
Total weight: 908 g.
Measurements: 30 x 23 cm (tray); 17 x 19 x 7 cm (coffee pot).

The set reflects the historicist style of early 20th-century German goldsmithing, featuring a Rococo-inspired aesthetic reinterpreted through refined lines and restrained ornamentation. The pieces feature domed bodies, fluted surfaces on their lower sections, sinuous handles, and molded lids with floral finials. The coffee pot stands out for its stylized spout and elegant silhouette, while the milk jug and sugar bowl echo its formal motifs. The tray, with its wavy outline and molded rim, harmonizes with the set despite being crafted by a different silversmith. The polished finish of the silver enhances the refined character of the set.
