DESCRIPTION
Incense burner. China, Qianlong period, 18th century.
Bronze.
Marked on the base.
Measurements: 6.5 x 14 cm.
Rectangular bronze incense burner. It features panels engraved with floral motifs (primarily plum blossoms or Prunus) framed within a traditional fan-shaped cartouche. It has two side handles with very pronounced angular shapes and stands on four stylized legs with a geometric cut at the base.
Historically, these vessels were filled with ash to hold incense sticks or cones, and were used both on domestic altars and in spaces for meditation and study.
