This vessel is a characteristic example of the ceramic production of the Yortan culture, which flourished in western Anatolia during the Early Bronze Age. It features a globular body, an annular foot, an arched handle, and a tall neck topped by a deeply cut rim, whose pointed shape forms a distinct spout. This combination of compact volumes and angular profiles is one of the most recognizable features of Yortan pottery.

The surface retains traces of a reddish slip and a gently burnished finish. The small appendages applied to the body introduce a sculptural element that reinforces the vessel’s sculptural character, while the notched rim corresponds to a typology documented in finds from the Yortan necropolis and other sites in northwestern Anatolia. Comparable examples are held in institutions such as the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
