On an intense turquoise background, stands out the central figure of an eagle in full flight, perched on a dark and robust branch, surrounded by foliage and flowers of various colors. The precision of the enameling stands out in the details of the plumage, which combines ochre, gray and white tones, contrasting with the vibrant blue of the background. The rim of the plate is ornamented with a mosaic of multicolored geometric and floral motifs, creating a frame that emphasizes the central scene. The work evidences careful craftsmanship and a clear Japanese aesthetic influence from the Meiji period.
The brightly colored enamels, delimited by fine metallic threads, reveal a remarkable technical precision and a refined aesthetic sense characteristic of Japanese decorative art of this period, in which naturalistic elegance and the masterful craftsmanship of cloisonné merge.
