DESCRIPTION
Tibor with lid; China, first third of the twentieth century.
Glazed porcelain.
It has slight bumps on the lid.
Measurements: 42 x 27 x 27 cm.
Tibor with glazed porcelain lid, made in China during the first third of the twentieth century, belonging to a period of transition in which Chinese ceramics maintained traditional models while adapting to new historical and commercial realities. The polychrome decoration with birds, flowers and landscape responds to a classical symbolic repertoire, linked to harmony with nature and the aesthetics of Chinese painting. This type of pieces, already conceived with a marked decorative character, were widely appreciated both in China and in the West, constituting a representative testimony of the continuity of craftsmanship in Chinese porcelain at the beginning of the 20th century.
