Aubusson style rug with blue field decorated with a developed golden ornamentation that extends across the field from the corners, to the central area. The ornamentation has neoclassical motifs: counters, flower bouquets, scrolls, etc. The border is formed by a band, also of neoclassical type.
Aubusson wool carpets were first woven by hand in the town of Aubusson, from which they take their name. Aubusson style rugs are extremely refined, following the 19th century weaving patterns.
