Aubusson carpet of Napoleon II period made in wool with lining in the base. The carpet presents a field in ochre and pink tones with a floral decoration combined with; scrolls and vegetal elements, arranged in the reserved areas. The border is composed of a single band of a red tone, the same as the reserved areas in the field, following a similar design to visually unify the composition. Aubusson wool rugs were first woven by hand in the town of Aubusson from which they take their name. Aubusson style rugs are extremely refined, following 19th century weaving patterns.
