Hand-painted Imari porcelain.
Measurements: 10 x 28,5 cm.
Bowl made of Imari porcelain, a type of Japanese porcelain characterized by its colorful and elaborate decoration. Imari porcelain is produced in the city of Arita, Japan, and was exported through the port of Imari, hence its name. It is distinguished by the use of three dominant colors: blue, dark red and white, often enhanced with touches of gold.
This type of porcelain is highly valued by collectors and is considered an icon of Japanese craftsmanship. During the Taish? period (1912-1926) in Japan, the arts played a crucial role in the country's cultural and social transformation. This brief but significant historical period was characterized by an openness to democratic ideas, cosmopolitanism and modernization, which generated a fertile environment for artistic experimentation.
