DESCRIPTION

Porcelain. Pink family.

Presents apocryphal Qianlong seal.

Porcelain vase, belonging to the period of the Republic of China, representative example of the survival and technical refinement of the pink family style.
Globular in shape with a high cylindrical neck, the piece is characterized by its rich polychrome decoration. The body depicts a female domestic scene, in which two young women, elegantly dressed in soft-colored tunics, are seated at a table with books and brushes, symbol of education, refinement and cultured life. Behind them, a flowering tree balances the composition and adds a lyrical note that refers to the traditional Chinese literary and poetic ideal.
The neck of the vase is profusely ornamented with a floral motif on a turquoise background, framed by yellow and pink borders of stylized design, where peonies, leaves and scrolls in bright enamels stand out. This contrast between the narrative serenity of the body and the decorative exuberance of the neck exemplifies the harmony between elegance and ornamentation that characterizes the porcelain of this period.
