DESCRIPTION
Japanese vase, late nineteenth century-early twentieth century.
In glazed porcelain.
Measurements: 73 cm (height).
Japanese vase, made of enameled porcelain, decorated with a refined composition of superimposed fans with landscapes, floral motifs and birds in flight, executed in polychrome enamels and gold on a white background. The scene is completed with undulating red ribbons that add dynamism to the whole, following decorative patterns characteristic of the Japanese export repertoire.
The piece has gilded bronze mounts that make up the neck, base and tripod foot with zoomorphic legs, and has been adapted as a lamp, according to later western use, reflecting the orientalist taste of the late nineteenth century.
