The Rare Kelly Sellier by Hermès represents one of the most exclusive and coveted versions of the legendary Kelly bag, one of the greatest icons in the history of luxury leather goods. The Kelly’s origins date back to Hermès’s earliest travel designs. Its predecessor was the Sac à Dépêches, created in the 1930s by Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family, as an elegant reinterpretation of bags used for documents and travel. The model achieved worldwide fame in the 1950s when Grace Kelly—then an actress and the future Princess of Monaco—used it to shield her pregnancy from photographers. From that moment on, the bag became associated with her image, and Hermès officially named it the Kelly in 1977.
