This is a representative piece of the work of the Barcelona sculptor and artist Luisa Granero. The figure, which occupies most of the space, rests his chin on his left hand in a classic gesture of thought and melancholy. Her gaze is directed towards a point outside the viewer's field of vision, accentuating the sense of being absorbed in her own thoughts. Granero achieves a rich play of textures and volumes.

Luisa Granero was trained in Barcelona, at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Sant Jordi. She was a disciple and assistant to the sculptors Jaume Otero and Enric Monjo and, later, professor of sculpture at the current Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where she received her doctorate in 1983. She is currently a member of the Royal Academies of San Fernando in Madrid, Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville and Sant Jordi in Barcelona, and a member of the National Sculpture Society of New York since 1973. He has won several awards, including the City of Barcelona, and has several public works in that city, as well as in Zaragoza and Palma de Mallorca. He has also held outdoor exhibitions in various places, such as around the castle of Malcesine in Italy (2004) and in Sitges (2007). In 2009 he received the Autocugat Art Award.
