The composition is articulated in a horizontal strip that concentrates the scene in the center, leaving wide empty margins that reinforce the sensation of isolation and silence. In the foreground, fragmented blocks of ice are distributed irregularly, suggesting an unstable and rugged terrain. Among them, barely sketched polar bear figures stand out, whose presence introduces a subtle narrative dimension: the life that persists in an extreme environment.
The stroke is loose and fast, typical of a sketch taken from nature or from memory. Rather than detailing, the artist suggests: the lines are fragmentary, almost vibrant, and leave large areas undefined. This technique not only conveys immediacy, but also the difficulty of visually apprehending such a changing and desolate landscape.
