Watercolor on paper glued to cardboard.

This set of compositions, dated around 1880, presents historical scenes of epic character developed in panoramic format. The images show parades, combats and troop concentrations, where the human figure is multiplied in a dense and dynamic choreography. Standards, cavalry and armor organize the visual narrative, suggesting episodes of conquest or military celebration.
The technique, agile and detailed at the same time, combines precise drawing with touches of color that accentuate the movement and hierarchy of the main figures. Despite the small format, the artist achieves a remarkable sense of spaciousness and drama, typical of 19th century history painting. These scenes not only recreate events, but also idealize them, exalting values such as heroism, authority and collective identity.
