DESCRIPTION
Planter; late twentieth century.
Gilded metal and glass.
Measurements: 50 x 32 x 32 cm; 20 cm (diameter).
Gold metal and glass planter, dated late twentieth century, which presents a design that merges naturalistic elements with a handcrafted treatment of the material. The glass container, with simple and translucent lines, is enveloped by a metal structure that takes the form of a chalice composed of stylized leaves. These leaves, cut and modeled with precision, open outwards like a corolla.
The support, raised on three curved legs, has a hammered finish that accentuates the luminous vibration of the gilded metal. Small reliefs and details in the form of thorns or ribs reinforce the vegetal inspiration of the whole, giving the piece a sculptural presence.
