Ceiling lamp made in Murano around 1970. Example of the dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and modernity that defined the Italian design of the second half of the twentieth century. Made of metal and blown glass, the piece displays a staggered structure from which hang dozens of hand-worked transparent glass plates, each with a delicate white core and an upper curvature that allows its direct suspension from the frame. The result is a rhythmic and enveloping composition. Formally, the piece participates in an aesthetic close to late modernism and seventies taste, where transparency, verticality and texture play a fundamental role.
In the sixties and seventies, Murano's workshops experienced a renewed creative impulse: without abandoning their inherited technical expertise, they adopted formal languages in line with contemporary taste. In contrast to the decorative historicism of previous periods, more sculptural, modular and refined proposals emerged, in tune with the rise of Italian design and international interior design.
