DESCRIPTION
Set of six chairs. Attributed to BIOSCA. Spain, ca.1960.
Solid iroko wood.

Measurements: 80x47x47cm.
Set of six chairs attributed to the Spanish firm Biosca, representative of the elegant rationalism developed in Spanish furniture in the middle of the 20th century. The design responds to a clear and functional structural conception, where geometric purity and balanced proportion define the identity of the piece.
The structure is made of solid iroko wood, appreciated for its strength, stability and warm tone. The straight lines and solid assembly are evidence of a careful manufacture, characteristic of Spanish production at the time. Seat and backrest upholstered in imitation leather provide material contrast and comfort, while maintaining the formal sobriety typical of modern design of the sixties.
The combination of material nobility, constructive simplicity and discreet sculptural presence places this set within the context of Spanish rational modernism, in dialogue with the international trends of the time.
