DESCRIPTION

Set of four chairs. France, 1960s

Braided bulrush seats.
Very good condition, with slight signs of use.
Measurements: 107 x 46 x 50 cm; 45 cm (seat height).

The design of these chairs combines the constructive solidity of solid wood with the visual lightness of the vegetal seat, generating a balance between functionality and material warmth. This type of production is related to the language developed in the French alpine design of the time, close to Charlotte Perriand's creations for the interiors of Les Arcs, where natural materials and refined forms adapted to everyday use were integrated.

The pieces retain a pleasant natural patina of the wood, the result of the passage of time and use.
