DESCRIPTION
ANDRÉ VANDENBEUCK (Central Europe, 20th century) for Strässle International.
Lounge Chair "Lotus", ca. 1969.
Fiberglass and leather.
It shows light wear commensurate with its age and use. There are some light marks on the fiberglass; see photos for details. This chair is very rare and delicate. Not recommended for intensive or daily use.
Measurements: 85 x 67 x 80 cm; 36 cm (seat height).
The chair in tender is distinguished by its sculptural and technical character typical of mid-century modern. It features a continuous fiberglass structure, with black enameled profiles or edges that frame the entire piece, creating a fluid and integrated silhouette (legs, arms and backrest form a single unit). On top of this structure are upholstered cushions upholstered in black leather, with vertical seams on the backrest that provide ergonomics and an elegant visual effect. The set combines visual lightness and structural robustness, with curved and enveloping lines that offer great comfort, being a very representative design of the Swiss furniture of the 60s: functional, innovative in materials and with a modern and timeless aesthetic.
