DESCRIPTION
BENT KARLBY (Denmark, 1912-1998) for Lyfa, Denmark.
Ceiling lamp model Pantre, 60s.
Aluminum structure with yellow and orange lacquered interior.
In good general condition according to the age. Slight signs of use.
Measurements: 37 x 20 x 20 cm.
Interesting hanging lamp model Pantre, characterized by its construction in curved aluminum sheets that generate a dynamic play of volumes and indirect lighting. The interior lacquered in yellow and orange tones intensifies the warmth of the light and provides an attractive chromatic contrast with the metallic exterior. Its aesthetics, with a marked geometry and expressive use of color, is close to the space age language, reflecting the interest in futuristic forms typical of the design of the 1960s.
Bent Karlby was a Danish designer specializing in lighting, linked for decades to the firm Lyfa. Trained at a technical school in the 1930s, he began his career in Denmark and, after going into exile in Sweden during World War II, established his own studio. His work is characterized by the search for balance between functionality and aesthetic expression. Among his best known designs are the Peanut, China, Mosaik, Pan, as well as the Peacock and Quadrille lamps.
