Midcentury floor lamp of minimalist design, attributed to Rupert Nikoll. It presents a stylized brass body supported by an elegant tripod of curved rods, a solution that is one of the defining features of the language associated with Nikoll. The base, light and almost graphic, brings dynamism to the ensemble and contrasts with the verticality of the shaft.
The parchment lampshade, updated, retains the luminous warmth typical of mid-century pieces.
Rupert Nikoll was an important lighting firm founded in Vienna in 1908, with a later branch in Munich. Emil Stejnar, a designer and jeweler known for his symmetrical and rounded compositions, close to starry and floral forms, worked for the company, including the famous "Sputnik" lamp of the 1960s. Although there is little information about the firm, its production occupies a prominent place in the Central European lighting of the twentieth century.
