DESCRIPTION

Futuristic modular bookcase ATOMIC SPACE AGE. Italy, 1970s.
Metal, glass and plastic. Chrome-plated spherical tubes and nodes with glass shelves.
Working. Original vintage piece. It shows signs of wear and tear according to its age and use.
Measurements: 153 x 80 x 37 cm.

Modular shelf with five levels built by means of an ingenious system of chromed tubes joined by spherical connectors, with transparent glass shelves. It is an object with a strong sculptural identity, directly inspired by the iconography of the Atomic and Space Age movements of the 1970s - the sphere as a structural and decorative element, a symbol of the fascination of the era with science and the cosmos.

Its measurements make it a piece of great vertical presence, visually light thanks to the glass and the brightness of the chrome, and easily integrated into living rooms, studios or commercial design spaces.

The constructive solution of chromed spherical nodes as joints, visible and deliberately exposed, turns the structure itself into an ornament, giving the piece a character that goes beyond the functional.

This is a rare piece on the market, ideal for collectors of Atomic Age design.
