DESCRIPTION
Horse of tio-vivo; Mid-twentieth century.
Resin and painted iron.
Measurements: 188 x 135 x 33 cm.
Merry-go-round horse, separated from its original carousel, made of resin and painted iron and dated in the mid-twentieth century. It is a representative piece of the playful iconography of the fairs and amusement parks of the time, reflecting both the aesthetics and the manufacturing technology of the carousels of the middle of the last century.
The horse has an internal structure of iron, which gives it stability and strength, while its body has been modeled in resin, a material characteristic of the production of decorative and functional elements in the field of mechanical entertainment. Its finish is enhanced by a polychrome paint that, although worn by time and use, retains traces of its original coloring. This type of figures were part of the mechanical carousels that proliferated in fairs and amusement parks during the twentieth century.
