Mark Zyga's unmistakable style is palpable in each of his sculptures, inspiring and reflective, where human emotions are unmistakably captured. The human form, both male and female, is at the forefront of his work, where letters and enameled patterns embody each piece. The painter himself states on his website "As a sculptor, I am interested in the human being, especially his body and gestures. I am fascinated by people, their behavior and their reactions. My sculptures are like processed images of reality; to a certain extent, they are stories. When an idea comes to my mind and finally takes shape, I sculpt it in clay and then mold it in plaster. As a self-taught artist, I am sensitive to the right technique. Before I start a new work, I think about how I should make it. I don't make sketches, but immediately work out a model in clay. My works are decorated with angobas, pigments and glazes". We see that her favorite material is, without a doubt, clay (including chamotte, also known as grog, a granular material that is added to clay to improve its properties in ceramics). With it she takes on new challenges, modeling the multiple possibilities offered by this material. Her work earned her a place in the art collective known as Imaginary Realism (Netherlands), where she exhibits her work with the best established and amateur artists. His work has been exhibited in important galleries and art fairs.
