Painter, sculptor and draftsman, Joan Castejón is one of the main representatives of the social realism of the Grup d'Elx in the Valencian plastic renovation of the second half of the 20th century. Trained at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and the Academia de San Carlos in Valencia, Castejón has held solo exhibitions in prominent centers such as the IVAM, the Museo del Dibujo de Larrés, the Salvador Allende in Chile, the Fundación Lecasse... He has been awarded the Total Art Work Prize of the Wagnerian Association of Alicante, among others, and is currently represented in the Museums of Contemporary Art of Elche and Santander, the IVAM of Valencia, the Salvador Allende Solidarity Museum of Chile, the Pérez Galdós and Casa Colón in Las Palmas, the Telefónica and Banco Bilbao collections, the Diputación de Alicante, the Palais des Arts in Toulouse, the Biblitoeca in Wolfenbüttel (Germany), the Lladró Museum in New York and many other national and international collections.
