Domestic scene starring a couple in daily attitude, linked to household chores or rural environment.

The work stands out for its synthetic treatment of the volumes and the expressive spontaneity of the faces and gestures, typical features of the French popular sculpture of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.

This type of pieces, made in local workshops, are of special interest for their ethnographic value, offering a tangible testimony of the daily life of the time, as well as a notable decorative presence.
