DESCRIPTION
YVES LOHÉ (France, 1947).
"Lady with headdress".
Vitreous paste and bronze.
Signed.
Measurements: 42 x 14 x 8 cm.
Between the transparency of the glass and the golden stroke of the bronze, this feminine figure is constructed as a light and ornamental presence. Yves Lohé resolves the work by means of an elongated silhouette, almost dancing, in which the metal draws the body and the vitreous paste introduces blue, green and amber sparkles.
The large headdress, conceived as a chromatic halo, concentrates much of the expressiveness of the piece and accentuates its verticality. The combination of materials generates a play of voids, sheens and transparencies characteristic of the artist's decorative language.
Yves Lohé is a contemporary French sculptor born in 1947, known for his works in bronze and vitreous paste. After beginning his career in wrought iron, in the late seventies he turned his work towards bronze, developing a language centered on music, dance, the human figure and animals. His female figures and compositions with colored glass reflect his interest in light, movement and ornamental expressiveness.
