DESCRIPTION

SALVADOR MOLLÁ SORIANO (Spain, 1960).
Untitled.
Metal and ceramic.
Signed with anagram.
Measurements: 102 x 27 x 21 cm.
Salvador Mollá Soriano presents in this untitled work a sculptural proposal with a strong material and expressive charge, where organic and industrial elements converge in a contemporary plastic language. The piece stands out for its horizontal composition and its visual tension between color, texture and metallic structure. The main body, with an eroded appearance and rough finish in turquoise tones, frames a central surface dominated by an intense volcanic red that merges with dark and gray areas, evoking mineral landscapes or geological remains transformed by time. This chromatic and material-gestural richness connects with certain informalist currents and with the experimental exploration typical of Spanish sculpture at the end of the 20th century; at one end emerges an open metallic structure, almost architectural, which introduces a contrast between the artisanal and the industrial.
In Salvador's work, materials are often the protagonists and motors of the creative process. Salvador Moya has an extensive artistic career that is expressed in various disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture with different materials and treatments, although he mainly works with ceramics, a material with which he has had a great professional projection, applied in architecture and decoration. It is also common in his work the use of iron, steel, glass, wood, etc. in any of his creations, providing an interesting contrast to his work, and distinguished by the recovery of materials or the conversion of furniture.
