This sculpture follows the historicist trend characteristic of the turn of the last century, when ancient styles and echoes of the past achieved remarkable popularity. In this case, we are looking at a Crucified Christ that echoes Italian Baroque works. Christ figures endowed with dramatic movement, gazing toward the heavens, and a veil of purity that also takes on a dynamic quality are some of the most evident formal features of this style.
