DESCRIPTION

Breviary of Martin of Aragon. Facsimile of the codex preserved in the National Library of France. Editorial Ediciones Reales Sitios.
Limited edition. Copy 82/300 to 300.
With study book and notarial certificate.
Measurements: 31 × 22,5 cm (facsimile).

Facsimile of the Breviary of Martin of Aragon, one of the most relevant bibliographic jewels of the late medieval period in the Crown of Aragon. The original is preserved in the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and this edition reproduces with exquisite fidelity both the decorative richness and the liturgical content of the work, standing out for its sumptuous illumination and its Gothic structure.

The breviary, commissioned in the environment of the royal court, constitutes a first-rate source for the study of international Gothic in the area of the Crown of Aragon, especially in the regions of the Principality of Catalonia and the Kingdom of Valencia. Its ornamentation and structure reflect both the influence of local artistic workshops and the cultural projection of a monarchy that relied on visual splendor as a symbol of power.

The present edition was produced by Ediciones Reales Sitios, with a worldwide print run limited to 300 numbered copies, authenticated by notarial act. It is accompanied by its corresponding study book, which offers a codicological, historical and artistic analysis of the manuscript.

Bound with high quality materials and elaborated by handcrafted processes, this facsimile is an essential piece for bibliophiles, researchers of medieval art and collectors of documentary heritage.
