Art Nouveau style side table with a structure defined by sinuous and moving shapes typical of this language. The upper board is marked with stylized vegetal bouquets and insects of great naturalism combining fruit woods, following the classic procedure. The table is raised on two legs connected by an openwork structure embellished with foliate motifs and a second tray.
The masterful designer Émile Gallé took over his father's factory in 1874, and in a short time achieved great international success, winning prizes at international exhibitions and selling works to important collections and museums. Today, pieces made by Émile Gallé can be seen in the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Orsay Museum in Paris, the Brohan Museum in Berlin and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, among many others.
