Veneered in satinwood, lemonwood, mahogany and brass.
Measurements: 71 x 90 x 68,5 cm.
18th century English Sheraton style side table with tray, in satinwood and mahogany. The oval top features a large central panel of satinwood. The top is veneered in mahogany with inlaid marquetry and a decorated edge with shell motif in lemongrass, framed by mahogany with fine fillets in lemongrass and ebony. Raised gallery-like perimeter rim, with serrated inlay in lemongrass.
The skirt is veneered with satinwood panels, bordered by fillets in lemongrass and ebony, and incorporates a single discreet drawer. The slender, tapered legs are veneered in satinwood and mahogany with fillets in lemongrass and ebony, and are topped with brass ball feet.
The Sheraton style, developed in England at the end of the 18th century, is part of neoclassicism and is characterized by its refined elegance and balanced proportions. Inspired by classical antiquity and French models, it stands out for its use of straight and slender lines, refined legs and restrained decoration based on marquetry, fillets and classical motifs.
