This table lamp belongs to the wide decorative production inspired by the historicist and modernist models spread internationally throughout the twentieth century, particularly in the tradition of the so-called "Tiffany" lamps. Made in the 1990s, the piece deliberately takes up the formal and technical principles developed in the late nineteenth century in the field of Art Nouveau, integrating a patinated bronze metal base with a polychrome leaded glass shade. The screen is the most characteristic element of the set. It consists of small pieces of glass of different colors assembled by metal rods or ribbons that form a hemispherical surface.
During the twentieth century, especially from the second half of the century, these models reached an enormous diffusion through reinterpretations and reproductions made by various workshops and manufacturers. In this context, the piece catalogued here responds to the persistence of the taste for the decorative forms of the turn of the century, reinterpreted in a contemporary key.
