Born in Murano, at the age of 11 he began working in the furnace and perfected his skills emulating glass pieces of the eighteenth century. At the age of twenty he became an excellent master glassmaker, distinguishing himself also with the newly born heavy glass working. He hires first Vittorio Zecchin and then Flavio Poli as designers in the family factory "Seguso Vetri d'Arte". From the 30s is invited to exhibit at the Venice Biennale, where, until 1972, is the Pavilion "Venice" dedicated to Murano glass.
