Belle Époque inkwell with naturalistic decoration of vines made in gilded bronze. The board that serves as a base is made of green marble and on it supports two pots with lid exposes the glass inkwells.
Albert Marionnet (1852-1910) was a renowned bronze artist, chiseler and founder. His firm, based in Paris, supplied all the luxury boutiques of the Second Empire and the Third Republic.
His works are in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay. Unfortunately, like many of his fellow bronze artists, whose skills lie on the fringes of art and the decorative arts, little information is available about him.
