Exhibits wear consistent with age and use, partial loss of gilding and small flaws in the molding.
Measurements: 73 x 93 cm (the largest); 54 x 68 cm (the smallest).
Set of seven frames from the Empire period, made of carved and gilded wood. The moldings are decorated in relief with vegetal motifs and stylized scrolls, typical of the ornamental repertoire spread during the first third of the 19th century.
The gilding, applied on a molding of sober profiles, combines smooth areas with ornamental elements in the corners and in the centers of the stringers, generating a balance between classical elegance and decorative richness. This type of frame was widely used to frame portraits and academic compositions in the European context of the time.
The ensemble retains an attractive historical patina that contributes to its authentic and decorative character. Particularly interesting pieces both for reuse in pictorial work and for interior design projects or collection of antique frames.
